I'm not going to "tell how" because no one will believe me.

I refuse to believe you can do this UNTIL you tell us.  >:(

I'm just saying...
And I'm just saying. When you run into the problem I will then tell you and only then . Oh ! By the way ,there is only 2 fuel pump rods that you need to worry about. There is a possibility the 36 hp pump rod is different. I don't remember. Its been way to long since I worked on a 36hp. There are so many crappy after-market pumps out there so who knows how many rods exist now.

I've run into that problem and got out the ol' screw driver and an hammer and started busing it up. I figure that brittle plastic stuff will lose to metal on metal. So go on ahead and speak up or I'll think you're full of it!

I've made a few custom length rods, mainly because I didn't have a short one, so I made one!

Oh the joys of bugdom....., you guys are cracking me up...thanks...=))

After digging through some inventory, I found a 3-7/8" fl pmp rod and a 4-3/16" one....huh...imagine that!!! Maybe they were trimmed, who knows.

I'm in the middle of changing out needle and seats, before I yank the pump and put this 3-7/8" rod in there. Ultimately, and I dont want to, I will go get a new carb from Chris @ Tri-state. He told me he's sold close to 30 in a year. So..., where are all these bad 28 PICT's. hahahah.

I'll be back...........................=))

Thanks KC, but it is already drowning. If it was jugged and slugged with some DP heads, maybe. I'm sure in a pinch, I could jet it......

You need to start thinking Metric .  How many MM's are the pump rods

Right, I forgot about you factory trained boys. It is a good habit to forget, for me anyway....lol

After going through 5 needle&seats 3new & 1solex used and some other jewel, I removed a 100mm fuel pump rod and installed a 98mm with ZERO diffrerence. The butterfly shaft is toast.....I could only bushing this thing, I'm seeing...

Oh yeah, I also have 107mm fuel pump rod.

Thanks

I meant that the bore was 2mm larger and therefore would give you some more air for all that gas you seem to have -LOL.

Bigger bore to accommodate the waterfall of fuel. Sorry it just blew by me in state multi tasking. Well, it turns out the fuel pump and rod are good to go. I fetched a new carb from Chris. Tune it tomorrow. No fuel drool....yay!!!

There's gotta be some way of fixing these butterfly shaft bores. I hate to throw a good carb - bad throttle shaft bore away. My thoughts anyhow.

Cheers,

Mark

Read down the ad, it is like $60 + shipping to redo the shafts.
