Does anyone have some Engle cam specs .   If I'm reading this right it has "Engle 120" stamped on the end of the shaft.
    Thanks

Hey ,Thanks .I have taken this cam/lifters from Ms Virgos '71 "vert".  Her engine had a strange collection of performance parts that didn't help a thing. Matter of fact her engine was sick as hell and would have melted down if she kept driving it.   It had a modified 36 HP fan shoud (dog house)  that nobody bothered to hook up the heater pipes and were left open, 2 new after-market heater boxes that didn't fit anything, no clamps kits, 87mm piston/clys, a 34mm carb that looks new but every adjustment is complety frozen up from water damage(rain) A stock muffler with loose baffles inside and 2 brand new cly.heads
The timing was set at 15 Degrees at Idle and avanced to about 45-50 Degrees at speed. The oilcooler seals were melted down from the heat. No oil though the cooler.
The engine has a CB 69mm counterweighed shaft , CB lightened flywheel, new clutch. The Mahle 87mm P/C look just fine. Not a scratch and are still shiney
We are going back to total stock so she may want to sell some of these goodies.

If I understood Debbie right, this engine only did about 2000 miles before it was parked sometime ago.
Dang good thing she stopped driving it or she would blown it up

A long time before I ever dreamed I would be into VWs, when I was attending Auto Mechanic's school at Walker Tech, I saw a guy build a VW engine for his early 70's bug.  He came in one day with a big box of bright shinny new parts and started to work . . . he replaced just about every part except the case and the tin.  He pulled out a few days later with his brand new engine running like a charm.

The next day he showed up at school with his bug on a tow bar.  He said it ran great and had never had so much power driving around town.  After he had logged about 50 miles around town, he hit the interstate.  About 15 miles later, he said it started smelling hot and losing power . . . he looked in the mirrow and said all he saw was a big cloud of smoke . . . then it locked up.

When he pulled it apart, the tops of the cylinders looked like you had hit them with a cutting torch.  Two of them had good size holes burnt all the way through in the center.  The culpret was too much timing advance.  It'll seem to give you a little extra power, but it WILL DO NASTY and EXPENSIVE stuff to a bug engine in very short order!

Let me know if she wants to get rid of those parts,or needs anything in trade. If its not highway robbery,I'll take em.

OK Scott or anybody else for that matter.  Debby says she will part with some of the goodies. She also told me that the engine only had 200 miles and not 2000 miles on it when it was parked. I can belive that by the look of the parts.
     For sale:
     Engle 120 cam/lifters( flat gear)
Mahle 87mm p/c ,clips . look brand new with a little soot on the tops
HD oil pump(cast iron) flat gear
36 hp fan shoud with dog house cooler set up and fresh air outlets.
I'm still thinking on the counterweighted shaft and light flywheel.
You know what this stuff cost, make a offer she can't refuse.

I have a boatload of cranks and orignal flywheels if you decide not to use em. Dont really need a 36'r shroud. as for the 87's, cam, and oil pump,I'd be interested in those. Not real sure what a fair offer would be? I know "new" what they cost, not really sure what there worth as used though.
