Building my engine - Rebuild of Engine

I need to get in touch with someone that knows how to rebuild my '71 VW engine.  Just bought the bug from a friend.  Engine is in pieces.  Lots of extra parts.  Service Manager at Economy Honda (Dan) told me about this site.  I want to do the work or as much of it as I can.  Not looking to have someone do it for me.

If you can make our next meeting, I'm sure we can find someone willing to help guide you through the process.  We meet at Wally's in East Ridge on the third Monday evening each month (Feb. 16th is our next one).  7pm til whenever the weather or need for sleep runs the last of us from the parking lot.

A great book is "How to Rebuild Volkswagen Air-Cooled Engines".  Sometimes availible locally but always on-line.
