brakes on mk1 G60 Cab

« on: October 05, 2004, 06:28:47 PM »
:D Ive had my G60 cab on the road for nearly 3 months now and whilst having a blast late one night i came across a very slow moving nissan :( I tried to slow up only finding myself nearly bubbling my AP551 race fluid!  :shock: i`ve since been offered some Brembo 4pots which originally came from a Lancia 164. Does anyone know who makes the plates to use these calipers and also can anyone advise me on what discs to use. I am currently using groovedate 239mm discs with mintex C-tec pads and race fluids??? :( [/b]

There is no bracket made to fit those calipers unless you have something custom made. You can use the 280mm disc and calipers from the Corrado with A bracket from either Rons part or Momentum Tuning. The dual piston calipers off the Audi 5000 turbo will also fit with that same bracket.

I am using 280mm discs with Wilwood 4 piston calipers and hawk hps pads and have never had any braking problems. How fast were you going to boil race fluid. I have never boiled dot4 even after repeated triple digit speed stops.

Herb, I guess it's like when we talk about finding a "one-eyed duck" for a "23-window" with "Safaris"! :D

Pots=disc brake pistons
Race brake fluid=higher boiling point (I can't imagine it boiling in a street application, either)  I use DOT4 in my Fomula Vee with no problem, of course, I try not to use the brakes, they just slow me down!

"G-60 cab"
 :-k

a Cabriolet with the suspension from a Corrado?
a Corrado with no roof?
a yellow G-60 Corrado with a sign on top?
Help us out here, guys!

Also, if you want to race, join the SCCA and do it on the track, not the street.  The life you save might be mine!  Plus, the Nissans move faster! :lol:

Hmmm !    This dude wasn`t one of the "Boy Racers" that made the papers in New Jersey a few weeks ago was he ?  Maybe if he put the Pizza Hut  sign a little higher on the roof ,it wouldn`t go so fast.
   OK ,You got me. What the h--l is a "one eyed duck" ? A patch over the hole where a head light bucket once called home ? The last time I saw a "one eyed duck" was some drunk Chick at a bar I use to hang out at. :occasion5:

It's the rubber piece between the front windows you hook the wiper blades into when you open the Safari windows.  It's got one screw hole (the "eye") and two rubber extentions (the "bill") to hook the blades in.

The Pizza Hut sign couldn't add much more drag than some of the big basket-handle wings I've seen on some cars!

AH HA !!    I didn`t know that !!   Who says an "old dawg" can`t learn something new. I get a kick out of the new nomenclature that people use today, but I am trying to catch up.  :?
