Brake light trouble

« on: August 27, 2011, 09:18:56 PM »
Frank has his buggy running but he has no brake lights. He will be logging in here himself after I show him how but I wanted to get this problem out there so you guys can help him out. It's a home build and he only has two wires going to the master cylinder. He came over to look at my bug but of course it has original style brake system and wiring. Give him some help so he can drive this project to the next meeting.

One wire should have power to the switch, then if the switch is working power should come out the other side, must have a good ground also.  A test light and volt meter would be a plus here.  You need to tract down where the circut is broken or shorted,  old bulb holders sometime don't ground well,  connectors can loosen or corrode, check fuses, they can be loose or making poor contact
