You going to be at the meeting tonight? If so I will try to run over there around 6:30 or so with the bus and you can take a peek.

If the noise is only on one side i would replace boots and repace on one side and pull the other side to see if one or both off the joints are bad and go from there
Isn't that exactly what I said ??

A little trick I learned along time ago on my junk.   If money is a problem ,swap sides the with axles.  Flip the axles over keeping the outside joint to the outside. This reverses the rotation of the axle and lets the balls in the joint run in a area that has less wear.  I did this to my VW "Thing" and I got another year out of it.  Be sure to repack ALL of the joints if that is all you are going to do right now
This little trick will  NOT work if you find any cracked cages or busted balls in the joint. Look closely .

Thanks for all the ideas and help guys. I guess once we take a look at how bad it is we will know how bad it will hurt the wallet. Does anybody have any computers they need worked on? I can make your computer run like new for a reasonable price....

Nothing I love more than going camping but somehow going or coming home on the "Dreaded Hook" takes all romance out of the trip of what could have been a perfect weekend. Your call !

That is why my wife has decided to follow us there in her Xtera just in case. Also if it gets too hot she can sit in the air conditioning.

I would tell her not to follow to close for fear of having shrapnel and chars of CV joint "Goodies" bouncing off the hood and windshield of the SUV.
Just messing with you Mr.Ruttco    Have fun this weekend  :thumbs-up:
