Hey perhaps ya'll can help me figure something out. i have a 67 splittie with 1776. the motor has dual kadrons with a 009 dizzy. for some reason the thing wont stop back firing over 2000 rpms. i had the motor previously in buggy and it seemed to run great except when she would idle at a light it would backfire for several blocks unless i revved the motor up. please help because i dont want to melt a piston.
thanks,
knox

Well, Whats with these 1776 engines ? This is about the 5th one in the last year that I`ve heard about with some kind of "pooping and poping" problem.  Timing to high, carbs not in sync, fouled plugs, plug connectors bad, resistor in the rotor bad, cap bad , Advance in the dist. not working .  Without seeing or hearing the Varmit , Its hard to say whats wrong ,but all of above could cause the problem plus a few other little things
