American "Idel"

« on: December 03, 2008, 09:16:25 AM »
Just a quick question.....FeeBee won't idel....It's been about a month. David we are going to call you as soon as things calm down. My question is this. Is it okay for her to just sit in the Garage? You know the last time she sat for 3 years. We just can't find the time to work on her. I just had that motor built and I am afraid it's not good for the motor to "sit". David don't fuss at me I'm doing the best I can :( . I can't move her right now so what are my options?

I would at least try to start FeeBee once a week and try to keep her running long enough to get warm. Don't rev the engine big time.  Try anyway. You can call me anytime.

I will do that and thanks for not fussing at me. I guess when you have the time we will need to haul her over there unless you think you can talk Rick through the fixen over the phone. I'm stressed ](*,) right now and have so much going on but I can't let her get back into the same shape. Dang it I wanted to go to the Ringgold parade and the share your food Christmas with her. I will still share my food just in the F150.

It might be a little hard to fix over the phone besides that I'm trying to get some heat in the new garage.  Its colder in the garage than outdoors. Stay hunkerd down until I get my mess straighten out    Poor old Albert is freezing his little crankshaft off

Ok well obviously I'm in no hurry. I will just keep cranking her and wait till it warms up some. Nothing worse than stranded on side of the road in the WINTER. Just wanted to make sure it was ok to wait. After the Holidays I will get a Rollback and haul her over there. I can't believe you don't have heat yet in that garage. Good Grief Charlie Brown what's the holdup?

Well its like this.   I waited till fall to get the A/C so I guess I'll wait till spring to get heat.   Story of my life.    I'm sort of stuck on what kind of heat to get that I can afford and still get warm.  O'me!!  :(  :(

Well don't get the wood burning stove. You ain't no spring chicken anymore and all that soot could clog up your lungs. Go get you a little propane vented gas heater and a little gas tank it will last you forever. Don't get kerosene either cause those fumes don't mix well with your afternoon light cocktail and we don't want Albert to get exploded and FeeBee may be in there too and she has enough problems

David, you should find a heater that works on heating oil - I understand there may be a few hundred gallons hidden somewhere in east brainerd.... :D

Hey look !!     I work on aircooled  VW's  that leak oil ,gas all over the floor much less rust dust in the air and last but not least, great Flapping Things that crawl out of the wreckage that once was a VW of some sort.  So I don't sweat soot. All kerosene does is add a little color to the adult cocktail. All I want to do is stay just a bit warmer in the process of raising the dead. :?
Is there such a thing as a smaller home heating oil furnace that would work?  Did trailer homes ever have oil heat ? Yes indeed I have about 500 gals of home heating oil. This would last me a longtime because it wouldn't be running unless I was in the shop.
I guess I need to talk to Allen since that is what he does for a living.

Hey David, I have a Reznor waste oil furnace at the shop that you can have...it tried to burn the joint down..prolly due to contaminated waste oil(*gasoline).  I am using the propane furnace that's right next to it...16ft in the air.  I'm sure it can be repaired, it's just old and has had a few hands in it that should'nt have been. :D

Rick , I just saw your post about  the heater.  I wonder if you can use home heating oil in the thing ?    Different jets for the thick stuff ???
