With my brute strength I managed to snap Sweet Pea's driver's side window crank. I found the replacement at Bus Depot for under $2, but when it showed up it was not identical to the one that broke. The replacement crank was fatter than the original and soulless. I had to decide if I was going to replace both and wind up with cheesy fat $2 Honda looking cranks or...
Upon closer inspection I noticed that the inner die-cast aluminum part of the crank was almost an exact match. All I needed to do was remove the plastic cover and swap it out with the new one. The nob wouldn't separate from the crank without bungling the whole thing, so I had to x-acto it at the end. Now I have a nearly matched crank. I don't give a rip about the nob. At least I don't have to order anything else and I got what I wanted!
Aside from the actual part swap, the lesson that I learned and will now pass on is this:
Just because it is broken, don't throw it away!!!

Who likes a fat crank?

Don't throw it away!
