68 transmission

What would it cost to rebuild this thing? I think Zen said reverse was shot in it. I don't think I could do it without adult supervision,I barely got it apart and it's still not all the way apart. :?

Before you go any further, Scott, you need to talk to the Godfather. He will "point" you in the right direction. From what I understand, you can get into trouble with a transmission in a hurry if you don't know what you're doing.

From what I've seen and read about type 1 trannys is they are not "hard" to work on, but it is nearly impossible to do without several special tools and jigs.  Like Herb said . . . talk to the Godfather.

Scott, Don't be beating , banging and prying on the tranny. There is some  "tender" stuff inside thats subject to bending and breaking. You can have a pile of junk in a heartbeat. 8)  8)

The nose cone is off and the axles are out but still attached to the gear in one piece.I don't think I'll mess with it anymore.I figure I can get it rebuilt and have a spare for my 67.
