There is a cheat on the internet to use an old gland nut welded into that large 46mm socket to allow the torque dude to take off the old nasty bus ones as well.
I am going to have to get one but I feel all in at $75 inc. shipping.
Haven't found one yet...
They are going down in price over the past few years.

Sound like that might hurt if it broke. I'll pass on that one for sure.
OLD FART...
KC ;D
Not taking any chances on some home made junk is the reason I got to be an OLD FART.

I made a rear brake drum puller out of a 1 1/2 ton bottle jack, a piece of chain and a few lug bolts once. Position the jack to push in on the axle, wrap it with chain and hold the chain to the drum with lug bolts!!
Genius , I said...won't be long now...wonder why nobody else thought of such a thing ???

I soon found out why...

Never claimed to be a welder Sandfordsun. I can't fly a Leer- Jet either. I'll hire a pro like Tony if I have to fly somewhere. Same with welding.Get someone who knows what they are doing.
If it breaks you can be like Ovomit . Blame someone else or "W".

Progress report. Breaking news update.
I got my front drums back freshly turned and lookin' good! I got them out of the truck and set 'em in the garage. Then I took a nap....no, wait, I took the nap first, then set the drums in the garage. By then it was time to eat so I didn't get much done.
The hydraulic jack wheel hub puller didn't work because the chain couldn't keep the jack in proper alignment. Once a bit of pressure was applied the jack turned sideways. After about an hour of slipping, slideing, cussing, fussing and snatching the chain I gave up and went for help.
A friend, who happened to be a real mechanic, drowned the splines with liquid wrench, and tapped the hub on alternate sides for a few minutes and it popped loose. I told him that I was just about to do that myself anyway.

Problems solved !
After a quart and a half of brake fluid with almost no improvement
I went to Maxi...they bled the brakes, and I was good to go.
Now I could stop again, but still had the cough and weak acceleration.
I'm almost ashamed to tell this, but I had three tight exhaust valves. Real tight. About 30 minutes of wrenching and the misfire was gone !!
Maybe I need a bigger shade tree...
