Jr,
When you get rid of the flexplate and gland nut, I would like them.  I am doing the same thing....only backwards.
I wonder if we should just trade engines..... :D
I would be intersted in possibly swapping out the flywheel and what clutch parts I have for this '74 1600 DP that I have, for the same Autostick Parts off of your engine.  Did you get the Trannie as well?  I am interested in having a spare for ASBug when it's current 90K engine decides to give up the ghost... no signs of a problem and I did put new seals and heads on this engine... Any way let me know.
Thanks,
KC

Change to the flywheel(with new seal) check the end play, change the oil pump, block off the tube on your intake right below the carb, plug up ports on the carb except the vac. advance port if you are running a Vac. dist.
Does the "new" engine have alot of inplay ?

And don't just block it off with a big rubber vacuum cap!  They will eventually dry and crack.  I've got an autostick intake on Homer's engine and I can tell you from experiance (three times), when you get a vacuum leak at that port, you have a vacuum leak!  If I ever get around to pulling Homer's engine to fix the oil leaks, I'm changing the manfold.

You know on some other boards, "older manual tranny" might have a different meaning...
