can a bug fly

I know this guy who is into flying.  and there is going to be a Fly in at LaFayette,I'm always ragging him and making fun or airplanes and crashes and things.  I told him I was going to disguise Stupor as an airplane and either roar out of the bushes onto the runway like in Animal House or do doughnuts in the grass while they are showing off there expensive toys.    I need some help in tying wings to Stupie, any body got and pictures or ideas on how to make the coolest looking Beetle \plane?  SC

:D I can assure you that a "bug engine" can be used to power a plane for flight!!!

There's an airplane wing out behind Joe's Recycling . . . I've had my eye on it for a while.  I've been thinking 'bout trying to get it and making a rear spoiler for Homer.    :-k   :idea1:  What if you put a roof rack on Stupie and tied the wing down to the roof rack?   8)

I've also come up with a design for making a gas powered jet engine using a type 1 fan and Solex carb . . . I just need to figure out how to fabricate the sheet metal . . .

Check this one out.  It was "built" by Austin (Kyle's son) a couple of years back.

This will be worse than the Iraqi airforce,Not to worry flight usally envolves complex math. I had an aeronautics graduate explain it all to me over several hours of boredom I understood about a 10th of it all so we should be safe. The amount of lift needed to clear the ridges should keep them contained if they get lucky.

We can drive it to the top of the ridge, get a burst of speed on the downhill side, kick in the jet engines and take off . . . If we can get airborn before we get halfway down Taylor's Ridge, we'll only need enough lift to maintain altituded . . . with a little luck we should be able to crash land somewhere in the edge of East Ridge.  And, we don't have to do all of the advanced math stuff . . . this wing came off of an airplane, so we already know it works.  We just have to figure out how to strap it down. :-k  We might need to do some advanced math to figure out how to fold the parachute.

But before attempting to build just remember that this plane was built virtually, not in reality. It was a cool merging of pictures in photoshop.

That's a great plan(crashing on the edge of East Ridge) I won't have far to go .Maybe try a smal helicopter I got a pretty big flat roof. I figure if you get a triangle flyin bug I should be able to shoot it down with my kids bb gun. Or a water baloon with goo b gone should loosen the duck tape.
Just a note Minimum drop alititude is about 500ft for a parachute unless you get a real cool one.

The way Stupey is  back firing, there may be an afterburner or something back in the engine box,  I put the roof rack on Sunday.  I think I want to find some PCV pipe and make the wings.,  then cover the frame with a sheet and paint the cloth with some old house paint,  I have under the house.    Anyone got some material oe ideas to make some light weight winges out off?   SC
