On July 15 2008, Volkswagen chose Chattanooga for the site of their newest production facility to open in 2011. Needless to say, as Volkswagen fans and Chattanoogans our club is very excited and proud to have VW in our town.
The site for the plant will be Enterprise South, the area's largest industrial park. Scheduled to open in early 2011, it will employ up to 2,000 workers and at full manufacturing capacity will produce up to 300,000 vehicles annually.

The plant will employ approximately 20% white collar administrative positions and the rest will be blue collar. To apply for a position, visit Volkswagen Group's Career Portal to browse posted positions and to submit your resume.

As part of the incentive to bring Volkswagen to Chattanooga, a welcome center will be built near the new plant. Both the city and county have agreed to contribute $3 million each, and VW is matching those funds with an additional $6 million. The center will showcase VW models as well as the "shared values" of Volkswagen and Chattanooga.
