While we have this brittle plastic off...

while we are replacing the wiper motor, can anyone suggest anything else we should do before we put this trim back on?

I've been told this plastic can get pretty brittle, and won't mind doing anything you might recommend while it's off.

It was pretty packed with leaves and dirt, which I've cleaned up now.

While the question may seem silly to you, please remember we're new at this and are just thrilled we'll get this done by ourselves.

Baby steps for us.  Oil changes and brake pads are hopefully next.
