I bought that bug from a lady that had evert intention to restore it and didn't have the money or the time and then I bought it to fix it up and didn't have the knowledge or the money (even though Herb and I gave it a really good try to keep it on the road)  But when the rocker bolts broke right after we half way rebuilt it I gave up,  Greg finally bought it from me and made it a wonderful bug.  Finally Rustys been restored.  Good job and I will see you the next time I deliver paper to yall

Rusty is still on the road. The other day the gas tank sprung a leak. It was one of the few things that I did not replace. The smell of gas was terrible. I replaced the tank, but I still can't get the smell of gas to go away. I'll have to track it down. I think I have a hose that did not seal back up. Red Bug

If your tank rusted out by the outlet , there is a good chance fuel leaked down and around the fuel line and into the tunnel where the steel line enters the tunnel. There is not much you can do about this. The smell will go away after awhile if this is the problem. I'm not going to tell you to put some kind anti- stinky in the tunnel because you would have to put up with its smell unless you just happen to like it better than stale gas Grin
