Greetings all:

A couple of years a go, I bought a sad little '73 VW Bug affectionately named Rusty. He was owned by a member of this club (I think) and still had the Scenic City stickers on the rear and side windows. He was located in the Chattanooga area, Mcdonald, to be exact.

Over the course of the past two years, I have nearly restored him (Rusty) back to a presentable condition. I did nearly all the work myself with help of one brother in law to help/teach weld and another brother in law to paint.

Work included replacement of the driver's lower rear quarter, minor heater channel repair, complete floorpan replacement, replacing windshield (twice), hood, front fenders, front axle (with new disk brakes), and complete interior replacement.

Yep, that's the Rusty we all knew and loved . . . kind'a wondered what had happened to him.  GREAT JOB!  Looks like he's ready for another 30 something years of running the roads!   Cool

After looking at the pictures Rusty is definitely not sad any more. Rusty has a big smile on his face now.  Cheesy You did a great job on Rusty.  :thumbs-up:
