Sounds like it is going to go away if they do not clean up their act...
October fest is pretty "full up" in the fall and this sounds like it is 10X worse.

There is a thread on Vortex that is discussing the backlash. It seems as though most folks don't approve of the idiots running amuck, but then there is the trouble of how do you address it? More police- that sounds like a reasonable option, but it sucks that more police presence is the only/best answer. I don't know how the could weed out the real trouble makers.

I heard that Twin-Peaks in Waco will host rowdy events... too soon? $:-\$

Went this year for the first time.
The show was fun.
I would not recommend staying in town once the sun goes down.
I also recommend sticking with people you know.
Anytime I wondered off, I got a feeling like I was in danger of going to jail.
The show is great but the hipster/ Euro trash turn in to Gremlins when the sun goes down.
DO A BURNOUT!!!!!!

News blog on FB said city council of Helen has said "NO" to a 2016 SOWO.
Perhaps we should lobby for this in Chattanooga?

I believe there are plans in the works. I haven't heard of anything in particular but I've heard there are some Individuals making proposals to try and get them to look this direction.

the vw plant should host sowo, only allow tanner foust to do burnouts. i didn't make it this year but in the years past i have left before the sun goes down. I'm getting to old for shenanigans, most of my car wont do a burnout

SoWo just posted on their Facebook page that the show will definitely not be in Helen next year and they are changing the name. So essentially, SoWo is dead. They will continue with the same date, but it will be a newly branded show and location.
