We received word today that The Talley Ho Inn will not be blocking reservation from outside parties anymore, starting tomorrow. If you want to stay at the Inn, you need to call and make your reservation very, very soon! Tell them you are with the VW show. They have about 25 rooms left and are opening those rooms to the general public for reservations. This means they will no longer tell everyone who calls, that is not affiliated with going to Summer Jam, that the hotel is booked for that weekend.

If you are concerned about not having the money to be able to pay for the room yet, this is how it generally works. When you make a reservation, they only hold your card number until you arrive to claim your room or if you don't give them an advanced notice of cancellation. You will have to check with The Tally Ho Inn for their cancellation time frame.

Additionally, go to the Summer Jam site and pre-register yourself, family and car for the show.

Thanks for keeping us up to date on the show! I can speak from having been to several British car shows at the Talley Ho that it's been a great time every time. Townsend is a relaxing town with great biking and inner tubing just across the street from the motel. I'll be far out of town but would totally be there otherwise!

The show in Townsend is the Summer Jam. I'm merging this with the existing topic so there is no confusion. Yes there should be a swap meet and parts vendors there.

I'm gonna pass on this one and maybe go to Decatur. Went last year and there were only a couple vendors and the show cars seemed to be mostly their club members cars.

A couple of us are riding up on Saturday to check out parts. Not taking any of our rides though.

I don't know if any SCVF people made it up for the show, but if not, you missed a good one. The new venue made the show. We had around 100 show cars show up, a big increase over last year, a big uptick in vendors (I didn't get to count them), and swappers as well. Most people stuck around well into Saturday evening for the band and free dinner. The decision was made on the spot to do it all again next year. Same bat time (July 20-21, 2013), same bat channel (Townsend, TN).
