Please join us for Oktoberfest at the Chattanooga Market on October 18-19 at the First Tennessee Pavilion in downtown Chattanooga (across from Finley Stadium).

The festival includes an array of German traditions: brats and other German culinary foods from local restauranteurs, a bier garten featuring over 99 local and season craft brews, the infamous Wurstbrats Oompah band, Scenic City Volks Folks car show and an annual Oktoberfest 5k run to kick off the weekend Saturday morning.

Live concerts presented by HITS 96.5, dance performances and more with entertainment on 2 stages daily. Visit ChattanoogaOktoberfest.com for the full schedule of events. Hours are Saturday 10/18 from 10am - 7pm, Sunday 10/19 from 11am  4pm.

So have you heard yet if the cars are gonna be back at the entrance or crammed in the back again?

Randy is (supposed to be) calling them to find out if we can be back up front. I don't think many of us liked being shoved in the back like last year.

Do you mean the side parking lot? Or am I thinking of a different time?

Picture this: back to the field, looking at the pavilion through the main entry, it was the parking lot on the right, on the inside corner of an L-shaped building.

That's where I am thinking of. Easy in/out, esp. compared to the first couple of years when they still had room to put us INSIDE the pavilion and you were committed for the duration of the weekend.

The last few years, we were on the road between the pavilion and the stadium, which was nice! But last year, we were kinda tucked around back in a parking lot where people just thought we drove our VWs to Oktoberfest. It wasn't the same.

We got a lot less traffic in that back parking lot. It's off to the side, and I don't think as many people realized we were part of the festivities.

Looks like it is, not sure if we will have to be there each day though or just Sat-Sun. Randy was supposed to get in touch and find out the details. I'll check with him tomorrow.

:( talked to a lady at the market and she said she has been trying to contact us for a while. It appears there is no room for us. There was a miscommunication in the contact info in their system. That has been updated for future use. I take full responsibility for us not having a spot. I should have tried to contact them sooner. I hope everyone will still go and support the market.
