And much more that has yet to be announced!

Online registration is available at http://www.bugapaluza.com/

Due to changes in our contract with Camp Jordan Park and our efforts to streamline and improve your experience at our show, the Scenic City Volks Folks would like to inform everyone about some changes to camping at Bug-A-Paluza.

Camping in the fenced in field:
* Due to the possibility of camping field being closed due to rain, we will have no pre-registration for camping this time.  If available, camping in the field will be on a first come, first serve basis.
* Camping in the field is limited to tent and VW campers only.  Depending on the condition of the field and the weather forecast for the weekend, small, light weight vintage and pop-up campers may also be allowed in the field (This is at Volks Folks and Camp Jordan officials' discretion).
* The camping field will open at Noon on Friday.  The gate will be closed from 11 PM Friday until 6 AM Saturday and 11 PM Saturday until 6 AM Sunday.  Vehicles will only be allowed in and out of the field in emergencies during these times.  Vehicle trailers must be stored in the lot next to the camping field.   Local noise ordinance must be observed (keep the noise down after 11 PM)
* As in the past:
* There is limited power and water available in the field, first come, first serve.  Bring your own drop cords!
* All camp and cooking fires must be off the ground!
* No generators after 11 PM.
* All dogs must be on a leash and owners MUST clean up after them.
* Camping fee for the field is $5 per person for the weekend (plus spectator fees if applicable).
Camping in the RV Area:
* RV sites are on a gravel lot and have water and power hook ups and are within walking distance of the show.
* You may set up camp in the RV area beginning on Thursday.
* Camping fee for the RV area is $10 per site, per night (regardless of the type or size of the RV or the number of people camping).  Tent camping is allowed in this area, but the same $10 per site, per night fee applies.  Spectator fees are separate.

Ok, if you're not camping this year I have all the hotel info. I'll be getting all this up on the website soon, but wanted to put it here too.

Our host hotel this year is the Arbour Inn & Suites (formerly the Comfort Inn). This is across the street from Camp Jordan. It's newly renovated with in room wall safes, 40" flat screen, mini-fridges, new furnishings, the works. Also they have a really large parking lot so if you're bringing a trailer this will be your best choice.

Rates for the Arbour Inn & Suites are $79.99 for a regular room (king or double bed) and $87.99 for a suite (king or double bed). You save 20% off the regular rates.

To book, call (423) 893-7979 and be sure to mention Bug-a-Paluza for your discount.

You can also stay at the Motel 6. This is located right at the entrance to Camp Jordan, so it's the closest you can get (without camping in the field of course). Room rates for Motel 6 are $32.99 for a single (1 person) room and $44.99 for a double (2 person) or king room.

To book at Motel 6, call (423) 894-1417 and be sure to mention Bug-a-Paluza for your discount.

Both these hotels have supported our show in the past and we are pleased to work with them again to bring you great rates. If you have any problems reserving a room, please let me know and I'll get in touch with them to get it straightened out for you.

This could be good. Maybe we should plant a tree!

They have these big fields just devoid of trees, we should plant them there.
I'm thinking those softball fields are kinda barren looking.

Didn't the camping field lose a tree in recent years?

Doesn't everyone like our trophies?!?!?

Of course! and we get them beautifully powder coated by Auto-Cycle Powder Coating in Red Bank, TN (http://www.facebook.com/autocycle.powdercoating), but we are running short on our rod supply. We have made molds and resin casts of rods for trophy toppers before, BUT we can't get them powder coated if we don't have metal rods.

In an attempt to collect rods for next years show, the Bug-a-paluza staff have offered a $1 food voucher for each *decent* rod that gets turned in[/b] at the show. The food vouchers can be redeemed at any of our food vendors. If any body just wants to donate rods, those will be accepted too.

Please no type IV or 40hp rods. We use standard 1600 rods.

Please help us collect rods for Bugapaluza 15.

If you're in the Atlanta area, there's a cruise being organized to the show. Details here: http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?5566261-ATL-GA-Bug-a-Pal%FCza-14-Caravan-from-ATL-to-Chattanooga-%28Friday-April-20-2012%29

We are happy to announce master pinstriper Von Hot Rod is returning for the show this year as well.

Also if you're looking for something different to do on Saturday night, Coker Tire in Chattanooga is hosting a free, open car cruise-in and they have invited everyone. In fact they've promised a special section designated for VWs. So for anyone interested, we'll have details and directions at the show and probably organize a little cruise. It's from 4-9 PM. If you've never been to Coker Tire or downtown Chattanooga then you might enjoy it.

More information on the Coker cruise-in: http://www.facebook.com/events/318555664857504/

Participation in the cruise-in is free and voluntary of course. If you prefer to hang out at Camp Jordan all night, that's fine too! We'll be having a mini drive-in theater after dark, currently on Facebook we're running a poll to see which movie we will show: http://www.facebook.com/questions/10150649821502500/

I have a few BAP trophies I would be willing to "recycle" if that would help. I think 2 of them are metal, and one is a plastercast. Dont feel like that I dont want them, I figured they may be of better use to the show than sitting here being a dust catcher.  Besides, the car they were received for, is gone  :'( ..

LMK.

Pre-registration has closed with a record-breaking 234 cars this year. If you missed out, registration will open at 8 AM on Saturday and will cost $20 to get your car in, until space fills up. Get there as early as you can! We won't be taking any new registrations on Sunday, so Sunday-only cars need to be pre-registered or non-judged. Also, vendor spots have completely sold out.
