As part of our yearly Volks Folks tradition, we will be participating in the WRCB 25th Annual Share Your Christmas Food Drive on Friday, December 9th. We will meet around 5:30-5:45 PM in the parking lot of Honest Charley's Speed Shop and then cruise to the First Tennessee Pavilion together. We will arrive at the Pavilion at 6:00 and are scheduled to go on the air between 6:05 and 6:15. After driving through, we will cruise to Blacksmith's Bistro and Grill in St. Elmo for dinner.

Yes, everyone attending needs to bring some canned goods or other non-persishable food items to donate. It can be a little or a lot . . . that's up to you. I usually bring a couple of sacks . . . unless I catch something on sale really cheap, then I might have 4 or 5 sacks.

I think there 2 Beetles (Nick and John Moore), 2 Super Beeltes (Bob Cox and Lamar), 2 Buses (Russ and me), a Thing (Travis Young) and Cabriolet (Hugh and Kathy) . . . and I might be missing someone. I thought I had counted 9 VWs.
This was the 14th consectutive year the Volks Folks have participated in this food drive. This wasn't the biggest caravan we've ever had, but it was still a good turnout, especially considering they moved it from Wednesday to Friday this year. Did anyone record the 6 o'clock news?

Oh, yeah, I gott'a brag a little. After the food drive, Lamar, Hugh and Kathy, Franny, Joy and myself went to eat at Blacksmiths. The parking lot was full and I was waiting to cross the road to get to a parking lot across the street . . . everyone but Lamar had already gone in the building, so I only have one eye witness, but Homer barked the tires when I took off!!!

My dad recorded it as I don't have channel 3 on Dish anymore. He's gonna get me a copy for us to have on YouTube.

Zen, no need for additional witnesses...everyone in the restaurant heard it and was struck with awe!
