I was a working on  the Saab this weekend,  See the shifter became disconnected from the tranny,  had to gut the interior to replace a coupling,  it cost me 91 bucks for the part and took 9 hours..  Stupid OEM.  Then I finished rebuilding / cleaning the  Rx7 Carb.  Some how got it back together. ANd yet another Miracle.  It started right up.  Wow.  Stupie is is in the sun and another piece of trim popped off cause I installed the little plastic holders .   Poor Stupie.  SC

Good question.  I have watch things slow down for a while. I cant' even get a good fight started.

While the hot weather has you slowed down, would this be a good time to bring the Dasher over?  It needs a head gasket and struts . . . I'm not in a hurry to get it back . . . you can keep it as long as you need to . . .

Lull, hell.... In the last few days i have...

done a major repair to a 71 westy to allow the sliding door to open, not just fall off when you release the latch... and fixed the smashed dog-leg to boot....

cut out all of the remaining rot in the front of the double (well, most of it anyways) and begun mocking up/welding in a new floor, two new dog legs, inner and outer valances, and a new lower nose skin...

and cut a donor section out for a front nose for Justin's bus...

and buffed out a brilliant shiny finish on the westy...

and sold my beloved Golf, my daily for the past nearly 5 years....

and replaced it with my personal automotive unicorn, which neccesitated the return to a small monthly payment.... a 2006 Subaru Impreza WRX....

can't imagine why i haven't had time to post anything.... Roll Eyes

If i had the cash for the Subaru, I wouldn't have bought the golf in the first place. It is impossible to remove the grin from my face as i am climbing the mountain now....  Grin

It even has four doors, so that makes it, like, a family car....  Wink

Crystal Gray Metallic..... I would have said silver.   Roll Eyes

One owner, 52k miles, and amazingly clean with an immaculate interior and undercarriage... not just a cleaned up one, but a really well-cared for example.

We debated last night.  I think girls settled on Samantha for her name.  Sam for short.

speaking ralleying...

the Motorcycle Canonball Endurance race will come through chattanooga monday night. If you thought cruising to a show was tough in an old VW tune in to this 16 day race across the US on pre 1916 motorcycles! Www.motorcyclecannonball.com

In other ralleying news, the Coker Challenge is next weekend in the chattanooga area. It's a 3 day ralley race(perfect time for a turn by turn course). Alot of antique cars participate in this one but some modern ones do too. I will be driving a 67 mini rhd in this years race. It's my first time ralleying, or driving a mini, or
a rhd... Lots of firsts. Www.cokertirechallenge.com
