Rusty Bottom Garage in Smyrna, TN has come to our show a lot and I was checking out the website last week for a buddy of mine. Looks like a rebuilt beetle trans with no extras can be had for $425! That's a pretty good deal in my eyes. I think they have agreed to join in next year as a sponsor for Bugapaluza. Russ can confirm that.

That is a good price, almost too good. Just some new parts cost that much. How far do they stand behind their work I wonder ? I wonder if they are "patched up". rebuilt, or re-man'd ? It would make a difference on service life. Exchange core ? Still it would be worth looking into. |

12 month, 12,000 mile warranty. $150 core charge. They are a legit business that specifically does transaxles. They had a booth to the left as you came in the spectator entrance to the show. After seeing them at a few shows and following their recent feed on Facebook, it seems that a good number of people have their units in their cars. I believe Spook has used them in some cars. They HAVE to be better than the old "Brainerd Special"...

I've got RBG on board for a sponsorship next year, they'll probably donate a gift certificate good for a trans or something big like that. Yep they do trans work for Airkooled Kustoms from time to time. They are good folks.

Dang Nick ! I thought you had more confidence in yourself than that. Jack of all things VW, master of none It has been pointed out that I don't live in Brainerd; I live on the "other side of the tracks." Not me! I am still working on tunneling over to connect the two though! |

Keep working on it and pay your dues and soon you will be allowed to move on up. |

I believe he said "Guaranteed... that something would be wrong with them!" I've lived on a hill before; too much trouble the 1 day it snows every winter. |

The phases goes---Its guaranteed there IS something wrong with them----But I can repair them and wait around for 10 years to sell one. I'm through with this stuff. I'm having more fun with my little wood working shop. I had a very interesting visitor yesterday morning in the form of about a 15 pd Ground Hog under my work bench. He must have snuck in the shop the night before when I had the doors open late. He didn't seem to worry about me to much. I opened all the doors to let him out but he just hung around checking out stuff. I left him/her alone. Everything was OK between us. I worked , he looked. cool

Biggest dang mouse I have ever seen except a Nutria(?) swamp rat. The only hallucination I've had lately was image of you walking around with a Flak Jacket on . Could it be true that you are now King Sparky, fearless leader of SCVF ? How did you pull that one off ? |
