Help with Slow Starter

Hey.. thanks Jason.  I will call you thurs day morning.  I went to Ace HWare and they had ball bearing for sale,  I splurged and bought 2 for 13 cents each to replace the one from the starter i lost. I'm going to reassemble this starter and try it one more time.    I discovered that I may hav worn out the ingnition switch with all the motor cranking i have done.  it has a dead spot that kills the motor and maybe it has something to do with the slow starter.

I have not had alot of after work bug time this week.  Thanks again/ Mike

Zen, If you have a video camera, why don`t you sneak down to Smelly-Cats crib and flim a thing or to for Americas Funnest Videos.  It might be exciting to see mufflers, motorcycle fuel tanks , Ball bearings and people flying through the air surrounded by smoke and flames. If you win the top prize you could donate a brand new Bosch starter to Smelly-Cat and His Band of Pyrotechnic Engineers. :lol:  :lol:  :lol:

Ha ha ha Bug tech.   I'll have you know...  that I have taken the starter apart and put it back together and I only have 3 extra parts on my bench.

I'll make a short movie for you guys of the smooth running ,  finely tuned ,  precision auto , that this Bug is.  That is.. after I get this starter back on,  and if that does not work ,  when I get Jasons starter..  and that is.. if I have not run out of starter fluid...   and if Frank will help again.

I can't talk 'bout nobody!  I've been known to do a little pyrotechnics in my day.  By the way, green pecans that are char-broiled on the highest branches of an old pecan tree are not good eat'n . . . but that squirrel that was munchin' on 'em when the sparks hit the gas wasn't too bad.   :whistle:

Only 3 left over parts ?   This should make the starter lighter and spin faster. Maybe you could use Zen`s  high flying Rodent he blew out of the tree. Bound to be faster.  I think you should do the right thing by convincing your friend Frank to gather up his family and get the heck out of there before the next attempt to FIRE up the Beast. :lol:  :lol: We all will be holding our breath :-#

Well the starter is in.   Frank won't talk to me since my bug sprayed him with gas.  What a baby!.   I ripped the start button of my spare clothes dryer and made a remote starter trigger. While in the barn for the dryer parts,  I found about 2 pounds of cat doo doo and had to get that cleaned out...  fun..   So I had the new remote switch,  tied it to the hot coil wire  and let er rip. I'm not sure if that was the best place to tie to ,  let me know..    It still seems like it is turning slow and i could not start the beast.   Fudge,    SC

You may not be getting enough power thru that old dryer button. I would hook it to the starter and see if it would help.

Your remote needs to be between the positive battery terminal on the starter and the "push on " conn. solenoid  term. right above . leave the batt. cable connected, pull off the little solenoid wire. Clip one wire to the batt.term, the other wire to the" push on term" If this doesn`t work, call the Maytag Repairman. :lol:  :lol:  Your buddy Frank is smarter than I thought. At least he is still Frank and not Frankfurter. :roll:
