All,

The '63 beetle came with an Optima Blue top 12V battery and a little rubber mat thrown over it.
I didn't like this set up and decided I would make a cover for it.
Then my mind settled on a couple of 6V battery covers I had in the parts pile.
Guess what! It snapped on like it was made for that battery.
Just an FYI.
